This stamp presumably refers to &#8216;Windsor made Wycombe&#8217;. The back of this chair is known as as a &#8216;slat back&#8217;. During the 19th century, a massive chair industry emerged around High Wycombe (50 km east of London). The exact dating of this individual chair is uncertain; given the condition and aging I&#8217;d guess early twentieth century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Restored by taking all the pieces apart, abrading them, putting them back together and revarnishing the complete chair.
