Canongate

Topographic print entitled “The Canongate, Edinburgh, looking West”. This print was originally made as a steel engraving by the English artist William Tombleson (1795-ca. 1846). Tombleson made the engraving after a drawing by the English artist Thomas Hosmer Shepherd (1793-1864). Around 1829 the print was published by “Jones & Co” London. This copy has been colored with watercolor.
