Publiek, "Audience", etching by Antonia Theresia Maria Diekstra (Ton) Diekstra; born in Groningen in 1939. Ton Diekstra studied at the Academies of Fine Arts in Arnhem and Tilburg, graduating in painting and printmaking.

Over the years, Diekstra achieved great perfection in her etching technique. In 1986, she received the first prize for printmaking from the Schut paper factory in Heelsum. She exhibited her work both domestically and internationally, worked on commission, and regularly participated in the art event "Grafiek Nu" (Graphic Now), which was held at the Singer Museum, among other venues.

In 1987 and 1988, she contributed to the course book and television series "Portrait Drawing and Painting" and "Landscape Drawing and Painting" by Teleac. She also published the book "Karikaturen tekenen" (Drawing Caricatures) in 1990, published by Cantecleer. She was a member of the Genootschap Kunstliefde (Society for art lovers).
